The surge in popularity for trucks is unmistakably evident in the extravagant yet remarkably appealing 6×6 conversions, and the latest addition to this burgeoning trend is the 2022 Toyota Tundra 6×6, masterfully crafted by Esteem Customs.
Formerly recognized as Force Motorsport merely a few months ago, Esteem Customs distinguishes itself, proving that each company brings a unique touch to their 6×6 conversion projects.
The grand debut of the Tundra 6×6 occurred at the Florida Truck Meet 2022, where, as depicted in the video at the end of this narrative, it wasn’t the sole 6×6 on display. The 3-axle Jeep phenomenon has become so prevalent in Florida that it regularly captures headlines, and now, the Toyota Tundra boldly joins this exclusive club.
Irrespective of whether it’s a Jeep Gladiator, Ford F-150 Raptor, or the Tundra, the process of creating a 6×6 involves modifying the chassis to accommodate an additional axle and sharing power from the rear pro shaft. The Tundra, in its 2022 iteration, has transitioned from its naturally aspirated V8 to two more compact yet efficient new engines. The commonly found powerplant is the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, delivering 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. There’s also the less common i-Force Max Hybrid powertrain, harnessing the same V6 but coupled with an electric motor to produce 437 hp and 583 lb-ft.
Achieving a polished appearance required Esteem Customs to fabricate a new bed for the Tundra. This revamped bed retains the semblance of the standard 6.5-foot bed but undergoes meticulous modifications in the middle to facilitate an additional set of wheels. Despite the seemingly straightforward description, the intricacies of matching the design and bed lining present a significant challenge.
The significance of creating Toyota Tundra 6×6 lies in the model’s prominence, given Toyota’s comprehensive overhaul for the fresh generation. With modern tech, a groundbreaking twin-turbo engine, and enhanced interior features, the 2022 Tundra marks a substantial leap forward. Priced starting from $36,000, the Tundra is anticipated to sell over 100,000 units this year, making this particular 6×6 variant a distinctive one-of-a-kind creation.
True to its Floridian roots, the Tundra 6×6 from Esteem Customs boasts impressive wheels. Similar to the Ram TRX 6×6, another creation from the same builders, the Tundra is adorned with colossal satin black alloys named HF6-5 Super Deep by Vossen. The multi-spoke design enhances the truck’s sporty and aftermarket aesthetic, complementing its overall striking presence.
This is mad truck. But Jeep Gladiator 6×6 “Apocalypse HellFire” is else more insane…
